Immigration Criminal Enforcement (6367) — 2 credits

This course examines the interplay between criminal law and civil immigration law. Discussion of the legal and constitutional implications of criminal immigration issues, specifically the consequences of criminal and terrorism activities and convictions for foreign-born individuals, immigration detention, U.S. citizenship laws and denaturalization, removal proceedings, and relief from removal. Examination of how crimes and convictions will impact an individual’s immigration status and the civil and criminal consequences that can stem from an arrest, conviction, or violation of our immigration laws.
